CUMBERLAND — Nadine Marie (Hardesty) Fitzwater, 104, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Feb. 9, 1920 in Ridgeley, W.Va., the daughter of the late Chester T. Hardesty and Elizabeth M. (Smith) Hardesty.
Joe W. Reffner
Joe W. Reffner, 96, of Centerville, formerly of New Enterprise, passed away on June 27, 2024 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on September 28, 1927 in Flitch; son of the late Wilson and Sallie (Bowser) Reffner. On July 24, 1952 at the Koontz Church of the Brethren, he was united in marriage to LaDonna J. (Baker) Reffner.

Crime drama films in East Providence
A road closure sign sits at one end of Woy Bridge Road near East Providence Road between Everett and Breezewood on Friday. The road was closed most of the last week for filming of an upcoming HBO miniseries titled “Task.” The crime drama series, expected to debut in 2025, stars Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent who leads a kidnapping and murder investigation. Tri-State Relief Sale planned for July 20
