Kenneth "Kenny" Walter
Kenneth "Kenny" Walter, 89, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 14, 2024. Kenny was the son of David D. and Ruth (Bowser) Walter, born in Salemville, Aug. 22, 1934. Kenny was the father of two sons: Brian (Tina) and Barry, both of New Enterprise; three grandchildren: Kendra Free (Jason), Hunter Walter, and Olivia Walter; two great-grandsons: Bryson and Jordan Free; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Failing fast in the heat
Anywhere you go the topic of conversation is the heat and the drought, at least it was, until someone apparently tried to shoot the former president. It was all I overheard anyone talking about during the Hampshire County Farm Crawl Saturday. I stopped by the Corn Festival in Springfield about two hours into it later that day and, I assume because of the extreme heat, there was nary a soul on the grounds outside of a couple vendors, and the guys preparing the food.
Patriota' Elijah Dunham Named Eastern League Player of the Week For The Second Consecutive Week
BRIDGEWATER, NJ - For the second consecutive week, Minor League Baseball has named Somerset Patriots OF Elijah Dunham the Eastern League Player of the Week. Over five games played during the Patriots' six-game series facing the Erie SeaWolves from July 8-14, Dunham went 8-for-19 (.421) with 2 HR, 4 RBI, 4 R, 4 XBH, 2 SB and a 1.342 OPS. Dunham had multiple hits in three of his five games and concluded the series by homering in back-to-back games.

Garrett Regional Medical Center (GRMC) welcomes Aster Berhane, MD, to WVU Medicine Garrett Medical Group in LaVale. Dr. Berhane received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI. She spent two years in an internal medicine residency program at Wayne, in the Detroit Medical Center. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Andrews University/Adventist University of East Africa, Kenya (affiliate university) in Berrien Springs, MI.
