Pink Ribbon Fund benefit scheduled
The annual Shoot for Life Clay Bird Shoot, a fundraiser for the Bedford County Pink Ribbon Fund, is set for this Saturday. The event will again be held at the Everett Sportsmen’s Club. This is the 26th year for the Shoot for Life, and the third time that the Pink Ribbon Fund is the beneficiary.
Saints use Hurricane blunders to capture CCAL title
The Bedford Post 113 Hurricanes looked to avenge last year’s Cambria County American Legion title loss against St. Michael, Monday. Their efforts were thwarted following a slew of errors as the Saints went on to win the CCAL title game, 6-1.
Church News
Cruise-in and ice cream festival will be hosted by the Everett Church of the Brethren, 119 E. Second St., from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 10. There will be hot dogs, sloppy dogs, kraut dogs, sloppy joes, pies, cakes, macaroni salad, numerous flavors of ice cream and more. Music will be shared. A yard sale will be held.

BOSWELL ― Another financial hurdle has been cleared in the borough's efforts to replace its antiquated stormwater drainage system. The state Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) announced on June 26 that Somerset County was awarded $755,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to replace stormwater drainage pipes along Allegheny Street in Boswell.
