Montgomery County Executive Elrich Joins Metro, Federal and State Team Seeking to Create Major Life Sciences and Mixed-use Project at North Bethesda Metrorail Station. Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Council President Andrew Friedson and Metro General Manager and CEO Randy Clarke led a group of Montgomery, Maryland and Federal officials on July 29 to launch an initiative that would create a major transit-oriented life sciences center at the North Bethesda Metrorail Station. The team effort is seeking a developer for the project that will include housing, office, retail and public spaces.

WASHINGTON — A person is under arrest and facing charges after walking up to a Secret Service agent to tell them they had a gun in their possession on Tuesday. A group of McLaurin High School seventh graders experienced the trip of a lifetime after placing nationally in the 2024 Capitol Hill Challenge, a national financial-education program underwritten by the Charles Schwab Foundation. Students Kalia Nickerson, Shania Mcintosh, Isaiah Hughes, Walter Gainwell and Cameron Jefferson placed third in the nation in the competition consisting of more than 600,000 students from one thousand schools.
