Armed robber gets away with Fairmont convenience store’s cash register, police say

FAIRMONT, N.C. (WBTW) — An armed robber got away with a convenience store’s cash register on Thursday afternoon, Fairmont Police Chief Jon Edwards said.

The robber entered the L&M store on Lakeview Road with a handgun at about 3 p.m., Edwards said. The suspect pointed it at employees and demanded money before fleeing with the cash register.

The suspect remains at large. Surveillance photos released by the police department show the suspect with a gun inside the store and a car that police have linked to the robbery.

No additional information was immediately available.
