Ft. Thomas to improve community complex with $5 million, help from school district
FT. THOMAS, Ky. (WKRC) - Ft. Thomas is getting $5 million from the state legislature and additional funds from the school district to improve the Tower Park Community Complex. Davon Kelley barely able to stand after taking fentanyl near West Knollwood Circle apartments
25-year-old Davon Alexander Kelley showed signs of impairment near the West Knollwood Circle apartments on July 2nd. When officers arrived, they noticed he could barely stand. Officers noted that Kelley appeared as if he were about to fall asleep or pass out while talking with them. At one point, during their interaction, he started drooling. Officers attempted to find him a place to stay but could not, so they detained him for his safety. Then, officers searched him and located a powdery substance, later identified as fentanyl. Kelley was taken into custody for simple possession and public intoxication.
The City of Madisonville Hosts First Ever ‘Illuminated’ Hot Air Balloon Show
Fun news from Madisonville, Kentucky. At the end of next month, the city will host, for the first time ever, a hot air balloon show called Madisonville Illuminated. The event is reminiscent of a balloon festival that used to be held at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden in Owensboro. For years, as part of the annual Dazzling Daylily Festival, the Botanical Garden also showcased hot air balloons with Balloons Over the Garden. There were many on display and floating above the property. They even offered tethered rides above the gardens, but also rides that launched from the grounds and flew across parts of Owensboro.

More information has been released about a wreck on US 68 in Fairview that claimed the life of a Bowling Green woman and injured two children and a man Monday afternoon. Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say an SUV driven by 21-year-old Laqway Matthews was eastbound on US 68 when the vehicle crossed the median and overturned several times. Matthews was ejected before the vehicle came to rest in a ditch.
Popular restaurant chain to open 92 locations in Walmart stores
Mr Gatti’s Pizza, a Texas-based pizza restaurant chain, is partnering with Walmart to open 92 store locations across four states. The partnership will bring Mr Gatti’s Pizza to Walmart locations in Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Mr Gatti’s will open 12 of the 92 planned locations by the end of this year in south Oklahoma and north Texas, according to a news release.
