Hot and sunny weekend, rainy and humid next week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Cloud cover has lingered behind the front that crossed over us yesterday afternoon, but the precipitation is sitting to our south. High pressure is in control now and will remain in control through the weekend, keeping us dry and mostly sunny. Temperatures during this time will get warmer, potentially as high as 90 degrees in some western lowland locations. If the 90s aren’t reached on Saturday, it’s a little more likely on Sunday, with temps being a few degrees higher. This won’t turn into another heat wave-- temperatures will fall back to the mid-low 80s (lowlands) and mid-70s (mountains) thanks to incoming precipitation. But, humidity will jump significantly, making it feel fairly uncomfortable, especially as temperatures steadily rise throughout the week. As for the rain, it is expected to be heavy at times, especially within thunderstorms. Moderate to extreme drought conditions are being observed in NCWV, however, so any and all rain is welcome.
