Small gains could lead to a big leap in 2024 for West Virginia
West Virginia made the major leap from five to nine wins a season ago but in order to see even more success in 2024 there's a blueprint on how to reach that goal. There’s a major difference in going from nine to 11 wins but the good news is that the Mountaineers won’t need to overhaul most of what they were already doing according to head coach Neal Brown.

Tucker Begins Competition at 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University rifle All-American Mary Tucker will compete for the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Tucker will take part in three events over the course of a week, competing in mixed team air rifle, women's air rifle and women's smallbore. Below is the full schedule. Mountaineers Earn ABCA Academic Honor
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team earned the 2023-24 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced. The award highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2023-24 academic year. For the year, the Mountaineers earned a cumulative GPA of 3.12. With the honor, WVU secured its second Team Academic Excellence Award and first since 2021-22. Former Mountaineers win first Olympic soccer match of the season
Gold medalists and four-year WVU Mountaineers Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence kicked off their games in Paris with a victory on Thursday. After allowing the first goal of the game from New Zealand, Team Canada scored one goal just before halftime and one in the 79th minute to pull ahead and win its first game of the 2024 Summer Games.
