Serb Fest to showcase heritage with traditional food and music in Weirton
WEIRTON, WV — There are many festivals happening this weekend in the Ohio Valley, including the Serb Fest held by the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church. It will be held on Saturday, July 27, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Serbian Picnic Grounds at 30 Serbian Way in Weirton.
New scholarship number and roster limit could impact in-state recruiting
According to YahooSports' Ross Dellenger, the NCAA is set to increase the number of scholarships that a football team can provide up to 105.... but also setting that as the limit for the entire roster, a cut down from 120. It's a positive for recruiting and a negative at the same time and, from Conversations EerSports had in Morgantown this week, it could cut both ways for in-state recruiting.

The first act of West Virginia's 2024 football schedule deserves some attention. Not only are the Mountaineers the rare team facing two major-conference opponents in non-conference play, but they played Penn State and Pitt a season ago. Big 12 play begins with a home game against Kansas, and tough, no, they did not play last season, WVU ought to have a much better idea what to expect this time around. The first of the season's two opening weeks follows before a road game against Oklahoma State, and there's familiarity there, too.
Izzo-Brown announces signing of Campbell Wolff for 2024
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University women’s soccer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown has announced the addition of goalkeeper Campbell Wolff to the 2024 fall roster. A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Wolff arrives in Morgantown after spending one season at Ole Miss, where she redshirted the 2023 season. She will join the Mountaineer roster as a redshirt freshman.
West Virginia looks to take a step forward in the Big 12
With the changes coming to the Big 12 Conference, West Virginia is hoping that the time has come to take a step forward with the football program. The Mountaineers are coming off a 9-4 campaign going 6-3 overall in the Big 12, the best for the program since the 2018 season when the program lost the final two games to miss on an opportunity to compete in the league’s title game.
