FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — It didn’t take long for Fall River police to make arrests after gunshots rang out Thursday night in the area of Tremont and Pine streets.

Police said they found four shell casings on the ground just after 7 p.m. and learned the suspects had left in a green SUV.

No injuries were reported, nor was there any property damage, according to police.

Using surveillance video, police identified the suspects as Roney Morales and Jayvon Murchison. The two 18-year-olds were found at an address they’re known to frequent, police said.

Morales is charged with three counts of armed assault to murder and one count each of discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, carrying a firearm without a license, and carrying a loaded firearm in public without a license.

Murchison is only charged as an accessory after the fact.

Police said the incident remains under investigation and additional charges are possible.
