    The Eagles Experience; free family movies: July at Heritage State Park

    FALL RIVER — With summer well underway, now's the perfect time to head down to the waterfront to cool off and explore some local history at Heritage State Park.

    The Visitor Center is located at 100 Davol St., in the Cap. Thomas J. Hudner Jr. Memorial Building.

    All programs are free and open to the public; an adult must accompany children. Free parking is available in the lot at 5 Water St. For more information, call 508-675-5759, Ext. 0.

    Free Family Flicks

    The meadow, July 16, 23, and 30, at dusk

    Watch free family flicks under the stars in the meadow. Bring a blanket, chairs, bug spray, and a picnic dinner. These events are for all ages, and are canceled for inclement weather. Upcoming movies are: "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (July 16); "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" (July 23); and "Elemental" (July 30).

    Concert: The Eagles Experience, presented by the Fall River Public Library

    The meadow, Monday, July 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.

    Enjoy an Eagles tribute concert. In the event of rain, this concert will be held on Tuesday, July 23, at 6 p.m. This concert is made possible through the generosity of Debby and Richard Danner. For more information, send an email to demello@sailsinc.org, or call 508-324-2700, Ext. 4.

    Film: 'The Fall River Line'

    Daily, available on-demand

    Visit a bygone age aboard the old Fall River Line, which ran from New York City to Fall River and was famous for its elegance and superior service. Run-time: 57 minutes.

    Film: 'Lincoln Park Remembered'

    Daily, available on-demand

    Take a fun-filled ride into the past with vintage clips and footage from as early as 1920. Relive favorite memories of Lincoln Park. Run-time: 45 minutes.

    Faces of Fall River

    Visitor Center lobby, daily

    Explore a selection of historic Fall River photographs. This exhibit features the work of Lewis Hine, whose photographs of children in Fall River cotton mills helped galvanize the nation against child labor.

    Guided tour: Water + Granite + Gravity = Fall River

    Meet at the Visitor Center desk, Saturday and Sunday, 11 to 11:30 a.m.

    Walk through the park on this popular journey through history, guided by a Park Interpreter. This 30-minute walk connects the park's wayfinders. Information is available at the front desk.

    Self-guided tour: People, Ambition, Hard Work

    This is a short walking tour of the landmarks named for the pioneers enshrined in Heritage State Park. Who were these people? How did they inspire others? Information is available at the front desk.

    Creation Station activities

    Visitor Center lobby, daily

    Stop by the Visitor Center and grab a unique coloring sheet of moments in Fall River history. Learn about textiles and calico, or even weave a row on the community loom. This is a drop-in program, for all ages.

    Storywalk: Bob Marley's 'Every Little Thing'

    Boardwalk, daily, dawn to dusk

    This book is based on the song "Three Little Birds," by Bob Marley. This adaptation is by his daughter Cedella, illustrated by Vanessa Brantley-Newton, and is for all ages.

    Storywalk: 'Quequechan — The Forgotten River'

    Visitor Center lobby, daily, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    Learn the story of the Quequechan River, in a tale of nature, industry, neglect, and rebirth. This book is by Fall River native Jeanne L. Prevost, and illustrated by Linda Crockett.
