FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Police continue to investigate an incident Wednesday in Fall River that killed a Dartmouth woman and landed a Bristol, R.I., man in the hospital.

The victim was identified Thursday by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office as 67-year-old Jean Revil.

Revil was a volunteer for My Brother’s Keeper , a nonprofit that picks up and drops off donated furniture. The DA’s office said she and five other volunteers and employees were picking up a dresser from a home on Joseph Drive when Revil and a 64-year-old man were hit by a box truck.

The initial investigation showed the driver, a 25-year-old Taunton woman who was also with the nonprofit, hit the two victims while backing up the truck, according to the DA’s office.

Revil died from her injuries, while at last check, the man was in critical condition but stable at St. Luke’s Hospital.

“It is hard to express the profoundness of our loss, pain, and grief. We are devastated,” My Brother’s Keeper wrote in an email to volunteers.

Revil’s obituary says visiting hours will be next Tuesday, July 23, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Waring-Sullivan Home in Dartmouth. A Mass of Christian burial will be held the following day at 10 a.m. at St. Julie Billiart Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to My Brother’s Keeper .
