DA's office ID's Dartmouth woman in fatal Fall River accident involving charity vehicle

FALL RIVER — The Bristol County District Attorney’s office released some details of Wednesday’s tragic accident involving a Christian charity vehicle belonging to My Brother’s Keeper that killed one woman and injured another person on Joseph Drive.

Jean Revil, 67, of Dartmouth, was killed when the charity’s box truck struck her and a 64-year-old Bristol, Rhode Island, man at 214 Joseph Drive, located in the city's North End off Meridian Street.

The accident occurred around noon when Revil and five other people, who were either employees of the charity organization or volunteers, were picking up a dresser at the address.

My Brother’s Keeper provides furniture, food and other assistance to people in the community.

The driver, reportedly a 25-year-old Taunton woman, was not identified by the Bristol County District Attorney's office.

Nor was the injured man, who was last listed in critical but stable condition Thursday morning at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, according to the district attorney’s office.

The accident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the DA’s office and the Fall River Police Department.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver backed the truck up and struck two volunteers who were standing behind it.

A call to My Brother’s Keeper’s office in Dartmouth requesting comment was not immediately returned.
