TROPICAL UPDATE: Medium chance of development in Atlantic
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The NHC is monitoring an area of interest in the central Atlantic. They are giving it a medium 40% chance of development over the next seven days. This tropical disturbance will have to move through a lot of Saharan dust on its northwestward journey. Dust represents dry air - something tropical systems don't like.

Hunt County Woman Jailed On Hopkins County Charge

Alleged intoxicated driver arrested after fleeing police in Rowlett
ROWLETT, Texas — An alleged intoxicated driver was arrested after attempting to evade officers and fleeing on foot in Rowlett, according to the Rowlett Police Department. The incident occurred in the 7600 block of Munich Drive, where the driver nearly hit a curb on Lakeview Parkway before abandoning the vehicle and running away. The Texas Department of Public Safety's North Texas Region, specifically DPS 101, assisted in locating the suspect, who was found hiding in a backyard and subsequently taken into custody.
Teen Shooting Suspect Arrested in Missouri After Year-Long Search
On Friday, January 13, 2023, at 9:19 p.m., Rowlett Police officers responded to a shooting at Twin Star Park in Rowlett, Texas.
