2 new bars, 1 underground, now open in downtown Detroit
Easy Peasy and Lowkey are two new bars officially open on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit. Billed as a neighborhood bar, Easy Peasy is on the corner of Woodward Avenue and John R Street. Easy Peasy is at 1456 Woodward and not far from downtown concert and event venues. The space formerly housed the Cornerstone Barrel House. Open at noon daily, Easy Peasy offers its sushi menu for lunch and late-night service.

It's hard to imagine what other treasures could be sitting at the bottom of the Detroit River when you consider the items that have already been pulled from it over the years. A steamship, freighter, cannons, vehicles and massive anchors are just some of the larger items that have been surfaced. Remains of World War II soldier from Detroit identified 80 years after plane shot down
DETROIT – The remains of a World War II soldier from Detroit that were identified 80 years after his plane was shot down on a bombing mission will be laid to rest in Kansas. On Dec. 1, 1943, U.S. Army Air Forces 2nd Lt. John E. McLauchlen Jr., 25, was piloting a B-24J Liberator bomber on a bombing mission from Panagarh, India, to the Insein Railroad Yard north of Rangoon, Burma. According to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, his plane was struck by anti-aircraft fire and the left wing burst into flames.

Michigan awards $1M grant to support Detroit's Fisher Body plant transformation
(CBS DETROIT) - The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy awarded a $1 million grant to help transform the former Fisher Body Plant 21 in Detroit into housing. On Thursday, EGLE said the $1 million Brownfield Redevelopment Grant would cover investigations, transportation and disposal of contaminated soil.
