Tayven Geiger Memorial Bean Bag Tournament is July 20
The first annual Tayven Geiger Memorial Bean Bag Tournament will be Saturday, July 20, at the Hampton Fire Hall – 5265 238th Street East in Hampton. Funds raised will go toward the cost of the event, the materials for some of the prizes and the Tayven Geiger Scholarship Fund.
Aurora 2’s Season Ends with 2-1 Loss in UPSL Conference Finals
Eagan, MN – July 14, 2024 – Aurora 2 fell 2-1 in the UPSL Midwest West Conference Finals to NOSC Blast at TCO stadium on Sunday, July 14th. The team went undefeated in the regular season and defeated Superior City FC in the Conference Semifinals. Aurora 2 ends its first season with a 11-1-2 record.
Total Twins Draft League, Undrafted Round, Game 1: Sawyerin’ over Lakeville
As befitting an OOTP tournament, I’ve renamed the rounds. and it all culminates in the Top Pick Series. The best pitching performance of the first set of games came from Duluth starter Sawyer Gipson-Long, who held the Noses scoreless in a mammoth 122-pitch outing just one out shy of a complete game.
Girls Flag Football Wraps Up their First Season
(ABC 6 News) — The Girls Flag Football Championships were held at TCO Stadium in Eagan this past weekend to mark the end of the season. Rosemount, Kasson-Mantorville, Pine Island, and La Crescent were the 4 core members of the league in its first year. Each team hosted a weekend of games over the summer. The league partnered with the Minnesota Vikings in order to get it off the ground, offering a unique opportunity of competition in Women’s athletics.

Bombers 9U youth baseball team wins Kasson tournament
The Cannon Falls Bombers 9U youth baseball team won the tournament in Kasson the weekend of June 15 with a perfect record of 3-0. The Bombers beat the Byron Bears 9U ZVL 5-4, defeated the Rochester Tornadoes 9U 4-3 and were victorious over Kasson-Mantorville 7-5. The wins over Byron and Rochester were both on walk-offs. In the win over Byron, Vince Pagel singled to drive in the game-winning run and Kooper Taube drove in four runs. Against Rochester, Charlie Stark was the hero with the game-winning single. Stark hit an inside-the-park grand slam against K-M. Bennett Banks, Graham Rechtzigel, Stark and Taube all pitched against Byron while the combination of Banks, Rechtzigel and Stark earned the win on the mound against Rochester. Against K-M it was the duo of Banks and Rechtizgel who pitched. The little Bombers host Randolph at the Archie Swenson Fields on Tuesday, July 16, and then have their end of the season tournament in Stewartville on July 28. Hastings Hawks 5 Red Wing Aces 4-The Hawks edged the Aces on a steamy afternoon at Veteran's Park in Hastings. Red Wing scored three runs in the top of the first inning on consecutive two out RBI singles by Dixon Irwin, Reese Tripp and Adam Thygesen against Hawks starting pitcher Jordan Jeske. Hastings got on the board in the fourth against Aces starting pitcher Ben Kuehni on an RBI single by Cory Wolters and tied the game in the fifth inning on an RBI double from Blake Warner and an RBI groundout from Noah Paulseth.
