Women’s basketball’s Sydney Shaw looks to make impact in first year
WVU Women’s Basketball junior guard Sydney Shaw spoke to media members alongside senior guard JJ Quinerly and junior guard Jordan Harrison after an open practice. Shaw averaged 6.6 points per game in her sophomore season at Auburn. She said that she looks forward to playing in Head Coach Mark Kellogg’s system at WVU.

WVU alumni help Canadian women's soccer team to another Olympic win amidst scandal
West Virginia women's soccer alumni Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence helped Canada keep their hopes alive to defend their 2020 Olympic gold medal on Sunday. Canada met host nation France in the second of three schedule group stage matchups for Canada. While a scandal surrounds the Canadian organization regarding spying on an opponents' practice with a drone, they didn't let it distract them too much as they rallied themselves to a 2-1 victory over France. Buchanan and Lawrence both logged a full 90 minutes of play during the matchup.
