Rain, thunderstorms, & high humidity begin Monday, last all week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Temperatures jumped above average this weekend, but with low humidity and sunny skies, it was still a beautiful final weekend of July. As we end the month and begin August, we’ll be in a more active weather pattern featuring a lot of moisture, both in terms of rain and in terms of humidity. A few disturbances passing overhead will bring scattered chances of rain and thunderstorms all day Monday and Tuesday. There will be hours-long periods of no rain for any given location, but when the rain does come, it will come heavily. Given recent drought, flash flooding is very unlikely; however, poor drainage areas could face minor high water issues in very heavy downpours or if getting hit with multiple downpours in a short amount of time. Past Tuesday, activity will be mostly diurnally driven, meaning only occurring in the afternoon & evening hours. Any thunderstorms that arise are not expected to be severe-- our main concern is heavy rain (if you want to call it a concern...).
