FARMVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — There are several other sites across Eastern North Carolina that are looking to bring in more economic development opportunities.

Farmville Cooperate Park is a 400-acre site off of Marlboro Road. It was recently recognized as one of the state’s top 15 sites to serve a major manufacturing project.

“We all know locally, farm bill is kind of a, you know, hidden gem of the community. They’re growing, they’re doing well, but they also have a lot of industrial product,” said Josh Lewis, President and CEO of Greenville ENC Alliance. “One specific location we had submitted as a community for a grant program, select sites through EDP and SI in North Carolina. And they were selected one of the top 15 sites in the state, something to be proud of, something we already knew. But also opens is up for grant opportunities and funding to help push that site over the edge.”

Economic developers added that they expect a company to move into this space soon.
