Search Warrants Lead to Drug Arrests in Fayette County
On July 19th, 2024, at approximately 8:00 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office conducted a narcotic search warrant at 710 Mill St. in Clermont. As a result of the warrant Kobe Joseph Detra, 20 of Clermont was arrested and charged with Possession of controlled substance Marijuana 1st offense, Possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of child endangerment. Detra was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he awaited his initial appearance and was later released on an unsecured appearance bond. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.

Couple Hit By Vehicle While on Trike
An Oelwein couple was injured when they were struck by a vehicle while on their trike in Allamakee County on Saturday. The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office says that 31 year old Mitchell Meyer was traveling east on Highway 18 when he was forced to swerve to avoid hitting a vehicle turning north onto Highway 52. In doing so, Meyer crossed the center line and struck 77 year old Wayne Barrett and 74 year old Helen Barrett on their trike. The Barrett’s were taken to WinnMed Hospital in Decorah before being transferred to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse with serious injuries. Meyer was uninjured in the crash, which remains under investigation at this time.
