In a quest to find the most terrifying player in college football , the list now enters the top ten. In the previous adaptations, we counted down from 16-20 on the list, as well as 11-15 . There were even a couple of honorable mention players who were highlighted. The 2024 college football season is right around the corner, with excitement continuing to rise with the outstanding players we are going to cheer for this fall.

Kicking off the top ten is Arkansas star defensive end Landon Jackson , who is as productive as he is frightening. Standing at a verified 6’ 5 ⅜” and 271 pounds, Jackson has broad shoulders and is powerfully built. He is one of the first players you want off the bus, and makes his impact felt in a big way on the field.

After originally signing with the LSU Tigers coming out of Pleasant Grove High School in Texas, Jackson opted for the portal after his freshman year in 2021, playing in just five games mostly on special teams for the Tigers. After getting his feet wet in 2022 during his first year with the Razorbacks, Jackson exploded in 2023.

During that junior campaign this past season, Jackson recorded 44 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks. That led to an All-SEC designation, making him a perfect candidate to leave early for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Instead, Jackson decided to head back to school for another year in 2024, with a top 100 draft slot firmly on the line. While there are some major questions about just how good Arkansas will be, and whether Sam Pittman lasts past this season, opponents know that they will have to deal with the imposing presence that Jackson brings.

The Texas native has come a long way since his viral recruitment video that caused many fans to question why Jackson was even a top recruit. His coordination and body have developed over the years, now sitting as one of the best defensive ends in all of college football heading into the 2024 season.
