Paul Finebaum Names SEC Team Lacking Excitement This Season

After it looked like things were headed in the right direction, Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman could be on the hot seat this season if his team doesn't improve from the last couple of seasons.
Pittman has finished his fourth season as head coach. In his second season, he led the team to a significant improvement, going from 3-7 in Year 1 to 9-4 in Year 2. However, Pittman hasn't been able to regain that success. Arkansas has gone 11-14 in the last two seasons, including a 4-8 season last year.
ESPN's Paul Finebaum stated that new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino has brought some energy to the Razorbacks; however, he doesn't believe it's enough to generate excitement for a great season.
"It's still a very complicated situation," Finebaum said. "I can't generate a lot of excitement and enthusiasm for a great season for Arkansas."
Petrino was once the head coach at Arkansas and experienced some success. In his four seasons there, he achieved a 34-17 record, including a remarkable 21-5 record in his last two seasons. There are some who believe he could be considered as a replacement for Pittman if he is no longer the head coach.
For that not to happen, Finebaum emphasized the importance of Arkansas winning some swing games this season. Finebaum believes if Pittman cannot win some of those games, he could be fired as the Razorbacks' head coach, increasing the pressure on him and his staff.
