Man charged with murder in deadly north St. Louis County gas station shooting
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A Metro East man was charged Thursday with murder in connection with a deadly shooting at a north St. Louis County gas station earlier this week. Unice Hobby IV, a 25-year-old Belleville man, was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the deadly shooting of 20-year-old Dennis Cooperwood on Monday.
4 Metro East police departments will supply additional officers to patrol MetroLink
Four Metro East towns have started supplying additional police officers to patrol around MetroLink stations. Under an agreement reached with Bi-State Development, which operates the region’s light-rail system, and the St. Clair County Transit District, the Belleville, Fairview Heights, Shiloh and Swansea police departments began allowing off-duty officers to monitor platforms and parking lots last month.
‘Superman’ Crew Member Dies Of Apparent Suicide Near Atlanta Set
A crew member working on a Superman movie shoot at Trilith Studios near Atlanta died by an apparent suicide on Wednesday. Fayetteville Police responded to a report of an unconscious adult contractor in a car at the studio lot and found the deceased female Teamster member with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No foul play is suspected, and the incident is not linked to ongoing studio projects. The tragedy occurred during production of the Superman film starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. This marks the first standalone Superman project in over a decade and explores the hero reconciling his alien heritage with his human upbringing. Warner Bros. and DC Comics representatives have not provided direct comments on the incident. (THR)
