Two Vehicle Crash On The 4th of July
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of the Highway 151 Exit 21 northbound off–ramp and Highway Double-X near Platteville Thursday around 2:35pm. 47 year old Darwin Millard of Platteville was traveling eastbound on Double-X in his vehicle. At the same time, 18 year old Nicholas Peacock of Platteville, was stopped at the stop sign at the bottom of the northbound Highway 151 Exit 21 ramp in his vehicle. Peacock was stopped at the stop sign making a left hand turn onto Double-X westbound into Platteville. Peacock did not see the Millard vehicle and pulled out right in front of him. The front of Millard’s vehicle struck the front driver’s side of Peacock’s vehicle. Both vehicles careened into the ditch line on the southeast corner of the intersection. There were no injuries reported and both individuals were wearing their seatbelts. Peacock was cited for Failure to Yield from a Stop Sign.
One Vehicle Rollover Crash in Bagley
On July 5, 2024 at 5:45 A.M., Spencer Meyer-Steiger, age 19 of Bloomington, was driving his 2017 Dodge Ram truck north on Gasner Hollow. Rd in Wyalusing Township, when he was driving too fast on the gravel for a left curve. Meyer-Steiger failed to keep his vehicle under control while negotiating the curve. Meyer-Steiger drove into the east ditch, down a steep embankment, struck some large rocks and rolled the truck. The truck came to rest on the driver’s side. Meyer-Steiger was wearing his seat belt and received a minor hand injury. Meyer-Steiger was cited for Driving too fast for Conditions. B&M’s Towing of Bloomington removed the truck from the scene, which was a total loss.
Crawford County Crime Stoppers asking for assistance with Hit and Run Accident in Wauzeka
On Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at approximately 1:24 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hit-and-run crash in the Village of Wauzeka. An investigation determined that a John Deere tractor sideswiped a semi pulling a trailer and the operator of the John Deere tractor left the crash scene. The Sheriff’s Office is attempting to identify the owner and/or operator of the John Deere tractor, review the attached picture.
