ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A Missouri Man has been charged in regards to a triple shooting in Ferguson, Missouri.

Donnovan Gray, 51, faces two counts of Assault First Degree, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree in connection to a triple shooting in Ferguson that injured three and sent one male victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On July 22, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Renshaw Drive. According to witnesses there was a verbal altercation between the first victim, a female, and Gray over a trailer Gray had parked at their residence.

The altercation turned physical when defendant strangled the female. The verbal altercation continued, at which time the second victim, a male, arrived home and attempted to mediate.

Gray, who has a prior felony conviction, took out a black semiautomatic handgun and pointed it at the second victim's head, at which time the second victim took out a handgun.

Gray allegedly shot the second victim in the abdomen several times and the second victim then fired a handgun and struck Gray in the shoulder area.

The female victim stated was shot in the leg by defendant. Both the female and second victim were transported to the hospital via EMS, with the second victim underwent surgery.

Five minor children were present in the home within several feet of the shooting and went to hide in another room.

St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are leading this investigation.
