West Texas Earthquake Much Larger Than Any To Ever Hit Dallas
A small town in West Texas was rattled by a trio of earthquakes late Monday night, according to reports. Hermleigh, about 260 miles west of Dallas, felt quakes ranging from 3.1 to 4.9 on the Richter scale between 10:30 p.m. and midnight, according to WFAA. Some residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth area reported being able to feel the quake.

Flash flooding closed portion of I-635 in Dallas
DALLAS – Flash flooding Monday morning caused a portion of I-635 to shut down. Westbound I-635 at Garland Road in Dallas was shut down because it was completely flooded. Between 1.5 and 4 inches of rain fell in a three-hour time frame on Monday.Two vehicles were disabled in the middle of the road. At one point, water was up to the windshield of the vehicles.As of 9 a.m. Monday, far right lanes were getting by while crews were working in the road.Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed traffic backed up about five miles. Delays were an estimated hour and a half. Alternate routes included Northwest Highway.
DART hopes to restore Downtown Dallas transit line by Wednesday
DALLAS - DART is still repairing its tracks and power system after a fire truck went off the overpass Sunday. The firefighters were injured but are out of the hospital. "We saw some really extensive damages to our overhead catenary line, which makes the lines lose their electric power in those areas," explained DART Spokesperson Jeamy Molina. "So we've had bus bridges coming and going from each last location."
