West Michigan’s Pickle-Themed Restaurant is a Big ‘Dill’
I don't know if you know this, but pickles are really popular. Pickle-flavored everything exists in one form or another, and it's nearly impossible to ignore seeing it somewhere on an aisle at the grocery store. Heck, even restaurants are starting to serve pickle drinks, cocktails, and shots on their regular menus.
The Ice Cream Man Has Now Taken to the Waters of One Michigan Lake
If you find yourself swimming at Muskegon Lake this summer, be sure to look out for the ice cream man, because he's upgraded to pontoon. When I was a kid, one of the highlights of the summer would be when the ice cream man would drive through my neighborhood. It was the perfect sweet treat on a hot day. So it's no wonder that people love that the ice cream man has now taken to the water.
August things to do: Festivals, shopping, Music Moves Us, history, movies, Wings Over Muskegon
These are the dog days of summer, so stay cool and take a look at what’s on the Lakeshore calendar this month. There are sidewalk sales, history presentations, an air show, movies, music, festivals, stargazing, an ice cream social and a summer social, crafts, farm markets, and learning opportunities — there’s even an event for your dog and the Labor Day holiday (technically, it’s Sept. 2, but … close enough).
Brian Hoffman’s Red Skelton Tribute Show to Play in Grand Haven
GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 30, 2024) – Brian Hoffman is trying to keep the memory of a 20th Century comedic genius alive in the 21st Century. A one-time trucker, door-to-door salesman and used-car salesman has, for the past 15 years, taken his comedy skills and resemblance to comedian Red Skelton to establish himself on a one-man tribute show at the Red Skelton Tribute Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, as well as on the road.
IN MOTION: Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp Celebrates 40 Years
(WXMI) — Grand Valley State University and Mary Free Bed brought kids together for the 40th Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp. This is our 40th anniversary. It's been around a long time, a lot of things have changed over the years we've grown from 10 to 12 campers 40 years ago to 52 campers this year," Maria Besta of Mary Free Bed said. "This camp is a camp for kids with physical disabilities. They're here not only to learn how to play sports but to make friendships and feel confident and empowered by being able to do all the wonderful things that they're able to do this week."
Fit and Healthy With Becky - Episode - 327 - Stability Ball and Some Dumbbells
The upper body and mid section are the focus this week. Strength in your arms and core are essential for almost everything. The stability ball adds in a layer of balance to go along with the strength training and while you're practicing balance, add in some of those tiny muscles that you can't really ever tell if they are there getting a work out.....that's the benefit of the ball. The dumbbells can be adjusted to a weight that best suits you. If 8-10 pounds are a bit too much, you can drop them down to 5 and go at a pace that's comfortable for you. The important thing....completing this 3-4 times through, and even doing it more than once today if you can.
Dog Blessed With Jodi Jarvis Therrian - Episode 120 - Rita Hogan - Canine Herbalist
From her website, Rita explains, "I've been working one-on-one with dogs and owners for 20 years. I learned about the power of plants from my father. He was a prolific gardener who knew what plants to use to help keep our animals healthy. This lead me to herbalism in my late twenties. I consider myself a Western holistic herbalist. My practice has grown throughout the years encompassing the use of food energetics, western herbs, phytoembryonic therapy (plant bud medicine), spagyrics, homeopathy, essential oils, flower / crystal / mineral essences and energy work." If you are part of the expanding move toward different ways of healing, this all makes sense to you. If you are into traditional Western medicine, this may seem like it's not exactly valid, but....there have been healing ways on earth long before there were doctors of today, so....something to think about.
