Village of Cross Keys adds another restaurant, store
A Mexican restaurant will round out the food offerings available at the Village of Cross Keys. Sol Oaxaca, which has a spot in Bel Air, signed a lease to open in the North Baltimore retail center next spring, the center's developer Caves Valley Partners announced Wednesday. Ruxton Mercantile, a general store with upscale items, will also join the North Baltimore hub this fall.
Baltimore residents voice public safety concerns after several people were killed
After a stretch of violence in Baltimore, some residents said despite of a drop in homicides, they still don't feel safe in their communities. Some of the recent incidents include 12-year-old Breaunna Cormley who was found dead with gunshot wounds in a home in Baltimore’s McElderry Park neighborhood on Friday, July 19. There was also a triple shooting on July 20. Then, in another incident, 14-year-old Jasper Davis was killed in a shooting at the Mondawmin Metro Center.

MIAMI (AP) — Ryan Mountcastle hit a go-ahead single in the 10th inning and the Baltimore Orioles rebounded after wasting a six-run lead to beat the Miami Marlins 7-6 on Thursday for their fourth win in 12 games. AL East-leading Baltimore (61-41) avoided getting swept in the three-game series against the NL-worst Marlins (37-66). “Great team win there, to end it in extra innings and squeak out a victory,” Mountcastle said. “We needed that one.” Anthony Santander hit his 28th homer, and Colton Cowser and Connor Norby also went deep against Roddery Muñoz as the Orioles built a 6-0 lead by the fourth inning.

MCPD Drone Pilots Complete One-Thousand Flights
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) announced that drone pilots from the Special Operations Division have successfully completed one thousand flights since the inception of the Drone as First Responder Program in October 2023. The program began in Silver Spring in 2023, expanded to Wheaton in March 2024, and is set to launch in Bethesda and Gaithersburg soon.
One person fatally shot in Barclay, according to police
A man was fatally shot in Barclay on Thursday night, according to Baltimore Police. Officers were sent to the 1900 block of Greenmount Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting around 9 p.m. Once there, they found an unresponsive 42-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

BALTIMORE -- A developer's controversial two million square foot business park project at Abingdon Woods in southern Harford County has been scrapped after a settlement was reached with county leaders.
