A Gloucester County zoning board is being sued for discriminating against recovering addicts by blocking a recovery home from operating in a residential neighborhood. The five-bedroom home, located in Washington Township and run by the organization Rising Sun Recovery, opened last year to help men recover from addiction and alcoholism, according to a lawsuit filed in New Jersey federal court last month.

New Hope Presents Fireworks and First Friday Summer Services Starting This Friday
The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce and New Hope Celebrates announce First Friday Summer Series and Fireworks Shows. New Hope’s signature summer program expands in 2024 with even more dazzling fireworks displays and a monthly block party on First Friday of each month. Festivities will include local artists and crafters, live art with New Hope Arts, a cocktail garden and outdoor lounge with Kylr Rum, captivating live music, food from Italian Cucina, and other festivities. The outdoor block party will shut down and take place on Stockton Avenue (between Bridge and Ferry streets) on July 5, August 2 and September 13, between 5:00pm and 9:00pm. Fireworks will light up the sky over the Delaware River each night, creating a spectacular and Instagram-worthy grand finale. For July and August, fireworks will take place at 9:00pm, and for September the final time will be between 9:00pm and 9:15pm. July’s celebration and official summer kick-off is made possible with support from sponsor Union Chill Cannabis Company. All festivities are no charge and open to the public, with families welcome! READINGTON – A plan to build 80 apartments, all of them affordable units, is scheduled to be heard by the township Planning Board on July 8. Hunterdon County Library installs two book pick-up lockers to expand public access
HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Starting just this year, Hunterdon County Library (HCL) patrons now have access to materials they have requested any time that is convenient to them. The installation of book lockers at the HCL North County Branch, in Clinton, and at the Holland Free Public Library, an affiliate of HCL, located in Milford, are part of a broader effort to expand public access.
