Investigators find fire origin in Smith County home destroyed on Fourth of July
SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - The Smith County fire marshal said a fire that destroyed a home on July 4 started in a garage trash can. Tyler woman pleads to 40 years for car crash death of daughter
TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Tyler woman pleaded guilty to murder Monday for the January death of her daughter in an intoxicated driving incident. Tyler Fire Department to conduct fire safety blitz
TYLER – The Tyler Fire Department is teaming up with the South Tyler Rotary Club to go door-to-door on Friday July 19 and 26 to check smoke alarms, replace batteries and install free smoke alarms in homes that need them. Firefighters will concentrate on houses near Woldert Park and the Caldwell Zoo due to a recent house fire with no smoke alarms. The Tyler Fire Department reports that the risk of dying in a home structure fire is approximately 50 percent lower in homes with working smoke alarms. They would also like to remind residents that if their smoke alarm sounds, they should get outside and stay outside. It’s important to respond rapidly.
