Escambia County DYW program to be held June 29 at FHS

The Distinguished Young Women of Escambia County 2025 program will be held on Sat., June 29, 2024 at Flomaton High School’s Auditorium.

Doors open at 3 p.m. with the show beginning at 4 p.m. Advanced tickets will be on sale for $15 until June 23. Advanced tickets can be purchased by emailing Escambia@distinguishedyw.org or contacting Chairman Jodi James at 251-360-0663.

Tickets will cost $20 at the door, and kids 5 and under will get in free.

James said the program is one to not miss.

“Myself, my committee and my participants have worked so hard over the past few months to revitalize the program and we have a lot of fun things planned for this year’s event,” James said. “We set a goal of $10,000 to give away in cash scholarships and I am happy to announce that we were able to meet that goal.”

Ten participants are competing for the chance to win scholarships in the categories of scholastics, interview, fitness, talent and self-expression and one will walk away as the new Distinguished Young Women of Escambia County 2025.

“Whomever that lucky winner is will then move on to compete at the state level in January 2025,” James said. “

James said the title of the program this year is Through the Years.

“We hope to showcase not only some fun decades, but also how DYW has helped those that have participated through the years,” she said.
