The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for a Burglary that occurred on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 7:01 am in Valley Stream. According to detectives, officers responded to a 911 call for a male inside of Macy’s located at 1000 Green Acres Mall, prior to business hours. Wednesday was shopping day for NJ Transit — and the airing of grievances for rail commuters who also came armed with some solutions to make their rides better. Some long-term relief for riders will be coming down the track as the commuter agency’s board of directors approved spending $178 million to buy 36 new Multilevel III rail cars. SUNY Oneonta to help develop fire-safe battery technology
ALBANY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Wednesday, July 24 that a local college will be helping develop new innovations in battery technology. SUNY Oneonta will be one of two places in New York State to receive funding from the United States Department of Energy (DOE) for a long-duration energy storage project using fire-safe battery technology. According to the governor’s office, the technology will be able to be used in urban and rural places and demonstrate a stable energy supply during periods of high demand and extreme weather conditions.
