Water shut off, road closed, during Florence maintenance

Work on a town water line will cause the overnight closure of a road in Florence and a systemwide water shutoff.

The planned water shutoff is scheduled for 11 p.m., Thursday to repair a damaged water main valve. Crews expect to resume water services by 5 a.m. or earlier on Friday. The shutoff will affect all water customers south of the Gila River.

As crews work on the water valve, W. 16th St. from Bush Street to Central Avenue will be closed for the duration.

The work was originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday night, but an unplanned water outage that day pushed back the work.
