The Southaven Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding 16-year-old Willie Reed, a runaway juvenile. Willie is described as a black male with brown eyes and black and red hair. He is approximately 5’4” tall and weighs around 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a purple t-shirt and black pants.

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Today’s forecast will consist of a dangerous combination of heat and humidity with temperatures well in the 90s to near 100-degrees. An Excessive Heat Warning and a Heat Advisory are in effect across the area today for heat indices up to 105 to 115. Be safe if you have to spend long periods of time outdoors. There could also be pop-up showers or storms around through sunset. Some could feature gusty winds, heavy rain, and lightning. Rain chances will taper off overnight with temperatures in the 70s.

CPD renews agreement with Parkway rangers
Even though Natchez Trace officials refused to budge on allowing Clinton to install lights on a portion of a walking path, there is some cooperation between the two. The Clinton Police Department (CPD) has gotten approval to extend a mutual law enforcement agreement with the Parkway rangers. At its July 16 meeting, the Board of Aldermen approved a memorandum of understanding between the CPD and the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service and the Trace establishing terms and conditions under which the two agencies will provide assistance on or near the Parkway within the police department’s jurisdiction.
