1 dead, 1 charged with murder after shooting on W. Evans Street in Florence, police say

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — Florence police have charged one person with murder after a deadly shooting Wednesday afternoon.

Dino Piere Scott is also being charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, possession of a stolen weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.

Scott is scheduled for a bond hearing at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Effingham.

Police said it happened in the 700 block of W. Evans St., where Scott and a still unnamed victim got into an argument. Scott then retrieved a handgun and shot the person multiple times.

Authorities said Scott was arrested at the scene without incident.

The coroner’s office is assisting police with the investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
