First Responder Friday: Leigh Manley

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) —  It’s time for another edition of First Responder Friday as News13 honors Grand Strand and Pee Dee first responders.

This week’s nominee is Lance Cpl. Leigh Manley with the Florence Police Department.

Manley has been serving with the Florence Police Department since March 2018. In his six years with the department, he has advanced to the rank of lance corporal and serves as a field training officer and a mentor for new recruits. He’s also a key member of the department’s emergency response team.

Manley earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Education from South Carolina State University and served as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves/National Guard for a decade.

Outside of his professional duties, he enjoys training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and spending time with his wife and their four children.
