Plainfield Police Encourage Residents to Lock Car Doors, Keep Items Out of View
PLAINFIELD, NJ — Starting Tuesday last week, the Plainfield Police Department began to encourage Plainfield residents to lock their cars and hide items from view. "Lock your cars after exiting," reads the statement that has been posted on the city's Facebook page two more times since the initial warning. "When leaving vehicles, please place all items out of view. We’re experiencing an uptick in the theft of personal items from unlocked vehicles, and we want to keep your property safe." Union Education Assoc. to Host Annual Town-Wide Block Party
UNION, NJ - A "Town-Wide Block Party", hosted by the Union Township Education Association (UTEA), is set for Tuesday, August 13, in Rabkin Park for all Union residents. Car Crashes on Hyatt Hills Golf Course in Clark
Clark, NJ — A single-vehicle accident occurred on the Hyatt Hills Golf Course, located at 1300 Raritan Rd, Sunday evening. Cranford Police Department's Youth Academy Was a Rousing Success
CRANFORD, NJ – Last week, Cranford Police Department hosted their annual Youth Academy which provides middle-school participants with hands-on exposure to various aspects of law enforcement. The Youth Academy offered 40 local Cranford cadets the unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement and gain valuable life skills along the way. “Our goal is to give these kids a real sense of what it means to be a police officer,” said Detective Ali Muhammad, organizer of this year’s academy. Highlights of the week included the New Jersey State Police’s helicopter presentation and a visit from the U.S. Secret Service. 5 dogs abandoned in NJ home, in nailed-shut closets with cig burns
IRVINGTON — Five neglected pit bulls were rescued from an abandoned home in the Essex County Township, according to a report by News 12. The Best Friend Dog and Animal Adoption in Cranford was first alerted to two dogs left outside the property on July 3. Upon further investigation, rescuers went into the house and found three other pit bulls in the basement, nailed inside closets with no food and water, said The Best Friend Dog and Animal Adoption president, Lauren Denoma.
