An Amazon delivery driver has been let go from the company after a viral video caught the vehicle hurtling down a sidewalk in the Georgia suburbs.

According to the New York Post , the video was first posted to Storyful on July 14, and was said to have been filmed by a passenger driving on Friendship Road in Flowery Branch, GA, about 45 miles northeast of Atlanta. However, the nine-second clip has since made its way to the Everything Georgia TikTok account, where it has been viewed nearly five million times.

"Someone seen driving an Amazon truck on the sidewalk in Flowery Branch," the account captioned the video. "This heat has people acting different."

The delivery driver was estimated to have been going about 35 miles per hour on the path, and thankfully did not seem to encounter any pedestrians—at least during the short clip.

Given that the video was posted to TikTok on July 16, the kickoff of Prime Day 2024 , the peanut gallery wasted no time giving their two cents in the comments.

"POV: Prime day started today," posted the official Eggo TikTok account, along with a cry-face emoji. "How do you think Prime shipping gets there so fast?!" quipped one user. Joked another, of the potential safety implications: "It's July in Georgia. Ain't nobody walking nowhere. It's 8,000 degrees. He good."

Be that as it may, Amazon has since parted ways with the driver.

"This was reckless and unacceptable behavior," a company spokesperson said in a statement. "We’ve investigated the incident and this driver is no longer delivering packages on behalf of Amazon."
