FONTANA — The 16th annual Dan Green Touch a Life Heal a Heart Pig in the Park fundraiser is set for Saturday, July 13 at Reid Park at the end of Fontana Boulevard.

The event has become a tradition for residents and visitors. It started as a gathering of family and friends to honor the memory of the late Dan Green, and it has now evolved into a friendly event offering amusement for all ages that draws attendees far and wide in the spirit of charitable giving.

Starting at 3 p.m., there will be a kids area, craft tent, beer tent and live music for a $15 donation, which includes an adult or kids meal.

“The event is not only about having fun for the attendees; it’s also about the rewarding feeling they get knowing the proceeds from Pig in the Park will support kids with cancer, help people in need, and maintain Fontana Parks so the event can continue to do good for many years to come,” a press release for the event states.

The Dan Green Touch a Life Heal a Heart (Dan Green Foundation) is a nonprofit led by foundation President Mary Kriete-Green, Dan Green’s widow.

For more information about Pig in the Park and the Dan Green Foundation, call 815-354-4287 or go to dangreenfoundation.org.
