Nike’s Air Max 95 ‘Toronto’ City Series Sneaker Features Removable Patches for the East and West End

Nike has been going local with city-focused colorways of some of its most iconic sneakers releasing this year. Philadelphia got a Dunk Low debuted by the Phillies, and Atlanta was treated to an Air Max 95 inspired by the Phoenix. Soon, Toronto will join the club with an Air Max 95 to call its own.

The Nike Air Max 95 “Toronto” will release at the end of the month with changeable tongue patches calling out the “East End” and “West End” neighborhoods. While the sneaker is mostly made up of black, white and grey, one of the Air Max 95’s signature stripes features a dark gradient fading from red to blue. The tiny Swoosh and visible Air Max units also arrive in red, and 3M piping reflects when hit with light. Inside, a custom insole graphic reads, “Valid for Toronto.”

Based on the previous City-inspired drops we’ve seen this year, this Air Max 95 was likely designed with the help of some of Toronto’s sneaker boutiques. Philadelphia’s rainbow accented Dunk Low with Eagles green laces was made in conjunction with Lapstone & Hammer and Crème. Nike also brought together four Atlanta boutiques — A Ma Maniére, Wish ATL, Walter’s and Soleplay — for its Air Max 95 in Hawks colors.

Those sneakers also first rolled out exclusively through local in-store releases before going on sale to a wider audience on the Snkrs app, lest expats be forgotten. Because all of the information on Toronto’s Air Max 95 has come via leaks, it’s not yet clear which local shops will be involved yet.

The Nike Air Max 95 doesn’t yet have a firm release date but is expected to be released before the end of August. Pricing is set at $185.
