After taking home her very first Olympic gold medal Friday during the United States women’s 4×100 relay win, star sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson had another show-stealing moment on Saturday while watching Team USA men’s basketball.

Seated courtside with names including Carmelo Anthony and Jimmy Fallon, Richardson paired a matching denim jacket and jeans with a striking red colorway of the Pharrell Williams-designed Louis Vuitton Speedy P9 bag. But it was her customized one-of-one corset made of deconstructed Nike Dunk sneakers that had fans on social media abuzz.

Richardson’s top was designed by Cierra Boyd, who uses the Instagram handle @friskmegood and specializes in repurposing footwear and turning it into clothing. Boyd’s e-commerce site sells a variety of sneaker corsets using shoes such as the Air Jordan 1 , Nike Dunk, Nike Air Force 1 and Nike Air Max 1. Prices range from $225 to $325.

The designs on Boyd’s site each use one sneaker style apiece, but the custom creation for Richardson blended multiple colorways of the Dunk Low including the “Medium Curry,” “Medium Olive Hemp,” and “Cacao Wow.”

In an Instagram story, Boyd shared a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Richardson’s bespoke corset, showing that 12 different earth-tone Nike Dunk Lows were considered for the project. Boyd added that she also created matching bottoms for Richardson’s deconstructed Dunk look, although that piece wasn’t revealed.

The specifics of Richardson’s Nike sponsorship have not been made public, but there’s been lots of speculation that the deal is highly lucrative. She has been prominently featured in a number of the brand’s recent campaigns including the Jacquemus x Nike spring 2024 collaboration and its “Winning Isn’t for Everyone” campaign .

Richardson stood out yet again during the U.S. women’s 4x100m final win Friday, where she wore a pair of Nike Maxfly 2 track spikes in a bright “Electric Green” shade. Patterned with Nike’s safari print, many members of the U.S. women’s team have been wearing the shoe in an “Electric Orange” look, but Nike gave Richardson her own exclusive colorway.

The Team USA men’s basketball team Saturday defeated France 98-87 to win its 17th Olympic gold medal . Meanwhile, on Sunday the U.S. women’s team held off France 67-66 to win their eighth consecutive gold medal — the first basketball team in Olympic history to do so.
