DNR fighting spread of invasive place species on Clear Lake
CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – An invasive species of plant has spread on Clear Lake. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says a small area of Eurasian watermilfoil was originally found during fall 2023 east of the McIntosh Beach. The outbreak was treated in May, but a larger area has now been found near Farmer’s Beach.

The ILYA organization has served as an advocate of amateur yacht racing on the inland lakes of the Midwest for over 125 years. The Clear Lake Yacht Club is proud to sponsor this event. A scows, 38 ft long-will be racing Sun afternoon through Wed morning. MC scows, 16 ft long racing Mon-Wed. On Thurs morning C scows, 20 ft long- and E scows, 28 ft long will take to the water.
