Celebrate Memorial Day Locally

The annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Fir Lawn Memorial Gardens honors our military heroes and remembers the brave men and women veterans that have passed away. Military honors, a flyover, and guest speaker are scheduled. You can add your loved one’s name to the honor roll that will be read during the ceremony by calling 503-640-2277. From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. the Hillsboro Pioneer Cemetery will hold a ceremony to honor our service men and women. The cemetery is at 150 SW Baseline Street in Hillsboro.

The Hillsboro Hops will hold a pregame program and in game promotions during the Sunday game with the Vancouver Canadians on May 26 at 1:05. For information about tickets and pricing visit the Hops’ website milb.com/hillsboro.

Another annual program is hosted by the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District and American Legion Post #124 on Monday May 27 at Veterans Memorial Park. The program runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the park located at the Intersection of SW Washington Street, SW Watson Avenue an SW 7th Street in Beaverton. The American Legion Post #185 band will perform an hour of patriotic music at 10 a.m. followed by the formal program at 11 a.m.
