Georgia Man Sentenced to 14 Years for Cocaine Distribution in Florida
In Gainesville, Florida, Frederick Anthony Forbes, a 52-year-old man from Georgia, has been sentenced to 168 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute the same amount. This announcement was made by Jason R. Coody, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

One Drowning, Several Incidents Reported on Area Lakes Over the 4th
It was a fairly busy holiday weekend for Georgia Department of Natural Resources Game Wardens on area lakes. In the District 2 region, which includes Lakes Lanier and Hartwell, DNR spokesman Mark McKinnon said that as of 9a Sunday, there had been several incidents on Lake Lanier, one incident on Lake Hartwell and a drowning on Lake Rabun.
