A Final Cheers: Evansville Bar Closes After Decades
This long-time bar has closed after decades of serving Evansville's west side. There's no denying that Evansville's bar scene is alive and well from old staples that have been around for decades to new bars that are thriving. There's something about a bar that can be described as a true "down home bar" where you can go, and see some familiar faces, eat some good food, and enjoy some cold beer. Evansville's west side recently said goodbye to a long-time establishment.

There are people who have pet dogs and then there are people who have fur babies. Courtney Duffy, the owner/operator of Fire Chicken Food Truck in Evansville is one of us who considers her dog part of the family. Tri-State Donut Shop Celebrating 57th Anniversary with Sweet Deal
Donut Bank is preparing to celebrate 57 years in business with a sweet deal available only on Thursday, July 18th. There are a lot of wonderful places to grab a donut and a coffee in the tri-state. When I was living in Washington, Indiana, my favorite stop was a local bakery called The Bakery House. I still try to stop by there when I'm in the area, as they have some of my favorite desserts, breakfast sandwiches, and, of course, donuts. Having recently moved to Gibson County, I've found an assortment of local staples in Princeton that I've also come to enjoy, such as Donut Bank. While the Princeton location has only been around since 2008, the business itself has deep community roots.

19-year-old Mallory Maurer of Ft. Branch, Indiana has something in common with Dasha that is pretty permanent. You can always count on a few staples at the Gibson County Fair, 4-H displays, fair fish, the taffy stand, entertainment, a little politics, and the Gibson County Fair Queen and her court.

Feeding Ducks and Geese Bread Can Lead to Wing Deformities and Even Death
You've done it. I've done it. We've all done it... Who among us hasn't gone to the State Hospital grounds in Evansville and casually tossed bread crumbs to the geese, thinking we're doing them a favor? Or those spontaneous chip offerings to the ducks chilling at Alcupulco in Newburgh? Seems innocent, doesn't it? I mean, they seem to enjoy it, gobbling up every crumb. Turns out, it's doing more harm than good. Like, permanent damage kind of harm. Who would've thought?
