The BYU football team will soon make its return to Fort Collins for the first time since 2010.
The Rams announced Wednesday the additions of several future football games as schedules get shuffled amid realignment, including BYU at Canvas Stadium in 2026. CSU also scheduled a home-and-home with UTSA.
“We’re excited to announce these two series with UTSA and BYU,” CSU coach Jay Norvell said in a news release. “Understanding the landscape of college football is crucial to continuing to compete at the highest level. We look to schedule programs that will help us toward our goal of a Mountain West Championship and earning a spot in the College Football Playoff every year.”
Here are the additions.
Home-and-home with BYU
BYU, a former Mountain West member who is now in the Big 12, will come to Fort Collins in 2026 before the Rams play in Provo in 2029.
UTSA home-and-home
UTSA, a prominent Group of 5 program, will play at Colorado State in Week 3 of 2025. CSU will play at Washington, home vs. Northern Colorado and UTSA, and still has a hole to fill for the 2025 nonconference schedule.
CSU will play in San Antonio in 2026.
Texas Tech series scrapped, Vanderbilt series altered
CSU had previously scheduled a home-and-home with Texas Tech for 2025 and 2026, but that contract was mutually voided.
CSU will play at Vanderbilt in 2025 after the originally scheduled game in Nashville for 2020 was scrapped due to COVID. The series was scheduled to continue in 2025 and 2026 but that will no longer happen.
CSU to play at Oklahoma
During the 2023 season the Rams signed an agreement to play at Oklahoma in 2028. That game will land CSU a $1.8 million payday, according to FBS schedules .
