Great stories come with great art

One of the perks of being a journalist are the people you get to work with. And in this newsletter, I'd like to periodically take some time to introduce you to some of the talented individuals in the Coloradoan newsroom.

He's a man whose work you see all the time if you're a regular, but he still finds ways to slip under the radar. Why? Well, like most in his profession, he stays mostly behind the camera.

Logan Newell is our staff photographer and let me just tell you, this week he has been in his bag. Fireworks, parades, college campuses and mosquitos. He does it all.

So in case you missed any of it, I'll share some of my favorites of his recent work, plus some reasons why in the captions. At the bottom of the email you can find links to his latest galleries.

I'm giving you a sneak peek at a story that hasn't published yet with these. Logan and reporter Miles Blumhardt recently accompanied some folks researching and testing mosquitos for West Nile virus in Fort Collins. Check back later for the story, but in the meantime enjoy some of the pics.
