10-day closure starts Monday on this Northern Colorado road

Kechter Road will soon be closed.

Kechter Road between Strauss Cabin Road and the I-25 Southwest Frontage Road will be closed for 10 days starting Monday, July 8, weather permitting, for asphalt paving.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on Kechter Road needing to cross I-25 will be detoured to Harmony Road. Bicyclists will be asked to follow posted detours.

The repaving work will include adding striped bike lanes to Kechter Road between Strauss Cabin Road and the roundabout at I-25 Southwest Frontage Road, city spokesperson Brian Nunnery said.

Work will typically be done from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, though some work may continue outside those hours. Alternate routes are suggested during those times.

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained, but minor delays should be expected when crews are working directly in front of driveways.
