Two of Fort Collins' representatives to the Colorado Capitol invite residents to a listening session this weekend.

Reps. Cathy Kipp and Andrew Boesenecker, both Democrats representing Fort Collins in the Colorado House, will be at the Harmony Library community room from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27.

The Library is located at Shields Street and Harmony Road.

"Our listening sessions are a great way to come and share your thoughts or have your questions answered about what is happening at the state level in Colorado," Kipp wrote in her weekly email to constituents.

The legislative session wrapped up in May, and the next one won't begin until January. Before then, there will be an election to determine who will serve.

Boesenecker is up for re-election to his District 53 seat. His challengers are Republican Donna Walter and unaffiliated candidate Jeff Birdsall, according to the Colorado Secretary of State's website.

Kipp is leaving her District 52 seat to run for Senate District 14, currently held by Democrat Joann Ginal, who is not running for the seat because she is term limited.

Kipp will face Republican Phoebe McWilliams and Libertarian Jeffrey Brosius, according to filings with the Colorado Secretary of State.

The District 52 race is between Democrat Yara Zokaie, Center Party candidate Stephen Yurash and unaffiliated candidate Reece Moellenhoff.
