After nearly two decades dishing up southern smoked barbecue in east Fort Collins, Chris Robinson may be packing up his smoker.

Robinson, who purchased Hog Wild BBQ 19 years ago, put the wood-fired barbecue restaurant at 223 S. Link Lane on the market last year. If he doesn't sell it by October, he will close the business and take the concept back to his home state of North Carolina, where he's planning to move to be closer to his parents.

"We would like to see Hog Wild continue, but if it goes the way of the Pickle Barrel and other restaurants in town – I might take it back to North Carolina with me," Robinson told the Coloradoan early this week, referring to the recent closure of Fort Collins sandwich shop B&B Pickle Barrel Bar & Deli.

Robinson and his then-wife purchased Hog Wild BBQ when it was around five years old, he said. He later opened a Hog Wild BBQ in Greeley in March 2020, but it was short-lived and eventually closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
